Grand Ensemble Koa brings their brand-new creation, 'Résistances', to the Festival Koa Jazz 2026 in an avant-première performance at Victoire 2, Montpellier. The collective's eight musicians have crafted a work that sits at the intersection of contemporary jazz and literary engagement.
The programme draws on texts by three iconic voices — Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwich, American Beat poet Allen Ginsberg, and Burmese Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi — weaving their words into a musical tapestry of orchestral writing, groove, improvisation and vocals.
The result is described as an intense and luminous concert that probes the power of words and music to question the contemporary world, balancing poetic force with the energy and freedom of jazz.
The show takes place in the Grande salle (standing) at Victoire 2. Tickets are available via the Victoire 2 online box office.
