Noura Mint Seymali, a Womex Artist Award winner from Mauritania, returns to ALICE in an intimate concert hall setting. She is presenting her new album Yenbett (Glitterbeat Records, 2025), and tickets are running low.
Born into a family of griots, she started touring Mauritania at 13, singing and playing the ardine, a nine-stringed harp traditionally played by women, which she learned from her grandmother.
She performs with her husband Jeiche Ould Chighaly, who turns the tidinit into electric psych guitar, backed by a solid rhythm section. Together they blend Saharan funk, psychedelic rock and West African grooves. She has previously played ALICE and Roskilde Festival, where she helped open the Orange Stage in 2016.
