Nicolas Winding Refn turns The Black Diamond into an immersive experience that looks at the darker side of Hans Christian Andersen. It draws on the Royal Danish Library's Andersen collection, the largest in the world.
Visitors move room by room through installations where original Andersen manuscripts, letters and diaries blend with Refn's atmospheric visual universe. The exhibition links the beauty and pain, light and darkness found in both Andersen's fairy tales and Refn's films.
It was produced in collaboration with Nicolas Winding Refn. The library's Andersen collection is listed on UNESCO's Memory of the World Register. Tickets are not on sale yet.
