A blood donation drive will be held at Halle Tropisme in Montpellier on Tuesday, October 27, from 11:30 to 16:30. Each donation session lasts approximately one hour and can help save multiple lives.
Blood donations are critically needed every day across the Occitanie region — around 1,000 units are required daily, including 200 in the Hérault department alone. There is currently no substitute for human blood, making regular donations essential.
Patients who depend on donated blood include those living with sickle cell disease, thalassemia, leukemia, immune system disorders, and various cancers requiring regular transfusions, as well as those facing acute emergencies such as accidents, childbirth complications, or surgery.
To donate, you must be in good health, aged 18 to 70, and weigh at least 50 kg. Come without fasting but well hydrated, and bring a valid photo ID (mandatory).
