The MAOM presents 'Méridionalité ?' at Halle Tropisme in Montpellier, bringing together AJAP laureates based in Occitanie across several generations, from 1988 to 2025.
The exhibition maps a continuity over time: a demanding pursuit of architectural quality, recognised nationally by the ministry. It also asks whether a spatial unity defined by Occitanie exists.
The theme of Méridionalité rejects mere Mediterranean decor and instead considers the place itself, working with light, wind, shade, climate, soil and materials. The works range from the Pyrenean foothills to the lagoon coasts, the great causses and the Languedoc plains.
Curated by Johan Laure of NAS Architecture, together with the 2025 AJAP laureates of Occitanie.
Opening hours: Monday to Thursday 16:00-20:00, Friday and Saturday 14:00-18:00, Sunday 10:00-15:00.
