Béluga

Béluga is DuBunker's first creation aimed at both teens and adults. It builds on the company's earlier participatory works, Le NoShow and Ensemble, and continues its close, organic exchange with the audience.

The two performers, Maxime and François, were once on opposite sides of school bullying: one was the target at a private Montreal college, the other a notorious troublemaker at the Roxton Pond high school. They set out to exorcise the ghosts of their graduation yearbook. The piece asks whether bullying will always exist and whether reaching out to one's tormentors or victims can make up for the past.

In a bittersweet duel, the audience is given the final power to crown the better human being of the two. The show is described as a clever, biting charm offensive.

Creative team: text, concept and performance by Maxime Beauregard-Martin and François Bernier; performer Olivia Palacci; direction by Élie Dorval; dramaturgy by Élie Dorval and Anne-Marie Olivier; set design by Anne-Sophie Gaudet; costumes by Marianne Lonergan Pilotto; lighting by Renaud Pettigrew; sound design by Antonin Gougeon-Moisan; assistant direction and stage management by Charlie Cohen; cultural mediation by Frédérick Moreau.

Performances take place in the Salle Fred-Barry at 19:30. Tickets are available on the theatre's website.
