The Royal Danish Academy of Music presents a celebratory all-Carl Nielsen evening in the Academy Concert Hall, with the RDAM Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Choir, and Children's Choir performing under the baton of conductor Thomas Dausgaard.
The programme is devoted entirely to the music of Carl Nielsen (1865–1931) and spans several of his major works: the Prelude to Act II from the opera Saul and David, the cantata Fynsk Forår (Springtime in Funen), the Concerto for Flute and Orchestra, and the monumental Symphony No. 5.
The concert runs from 16:00 to 18:00 and takes place in the Academy Concert Hall at Julius Thomsens Gade 1, 1974 Frederiksberg C.
The event is generously supported by the Vera and Carl Johan Michaelsen Fund.
