The Antonio Gades Company returns to France with its iconic production Carmen, a ballet first created through the collaboration of Spanish choreographer Antonio Gades and filmmaker Carlos Saura, inspired by Mérimée's novella and Bizet's celebrated opera.
At the heart of the show is a striking contrast: Bizet's sweeping orchestral score set against the raw energy of a live flamenco orchestra, chosen by Gades to capture the very essence of Andalusian culture.
More than 20 years after the death of Antonio Gades — one of the most emblematic figures of Spanish dance — the Fondation Gades continues to carry his legacy forward, touring the world with productions that maintain his artistic vision at the highest level.
