Grandmas House formed in Bristol's lively music scene. The band is Yasmin Berndt, Poppy Dodgson, Zoë Zinsmeister and Polly Jessett. Their sound mixes booming basslines, angular guitars and multi-part harmonies, balancing darkness and light.
Their debut album, Baby You're A Winner, is due on 21 August. Produced by Ali Chant, who has worked with PJ Harvey, Yard Act and Perfume Genius, it captures both the melodic and the raw, the intimate and the chaotic. The songs deal with love, grief, loneliness and existential questions.
The album follows several years of EP releases and intense gigs. The band is known for high-energy, emotionally charged live shows, which are central to its identity.
