Trokids : fabrique d'images is a hands-on creative workshop taking place in the Cuisine des résident.es area of Halle Tropisme in Montpellier. It is led by artist Céline Courtault Capelier, who has spent over ten years designing and running image-making and visual-arts education workshops.
The December session focuses on camera-less cinema and found footage. Participants collectively create a short 16mm film by repurposing and reworking existing silver-based film stock — through colorization, hand-scratching, and rerouting — before projecting the finished result at the end of the session.
A follow-up session is planned for January, exploring experimental animation through hand-painting directly onto film, using the mechanics of a 16mm projector rather than any camera.
