De små synger is a lively and imaginative children's show built around the beloved characters that generations of Danish children have grown up with — from the baker in Nørregade and the ten little cyclists to Ole with his car and many more.
The story follows a boy named Emil, who falls asleep to his grandmother's lullaby and wakes up in a magical dreamland inhabited by the quirky figures from the famous Danish songbook. There he meets the girl Liva, a travelling gnome, a kitten, two cats on a table, two hares, a not-so-fearsome huntsman, and a whole host of other characters who come to life on stage.
The production is directed by Stine Schrøder Jensen under the musical direction of Laus Høybye, reuniting the creative duo behind the earlier children's show Rødderne i hjørnehuset. Cover illustration is by Bitte Böcher in agreement with Gyldendal.
Recommended for children aged 4 and up. Runs at Skuespilhuset's Store Scene from 13 November to 30 December 2026.
