Hitler on the Roof returns to Aveny-T's Store Scene (unnumbered seating) for two performances on Sunday 7 and Monday 8 February 2027 at 20:00. The show is a guest production (gæstespil) and a revival of the award-winning and critically acclaimed original production.
This version is presented as a staged reading in a sharply edited form, enhanced by a strong sound design and layers of historical video material. Actors Jens Jørn Spottag and Ina-Miriam Rosenbaum take the stage as Leni Riefenstahl — Hitler's chief filmmaker — and Dr. Joseph Goebbels respectively. Historian, journalist and author Christoffer Emil Bruun serves as narrator and moderator for a post-show audience discussion.
The text, originally by Rhea Leman, is a tragicomedy centred on Dr. Joseph Goebbels. Ina-Miriam Rosenbaum previously played Goebbels in the original production, a role for which she received the Reumert Award for Best Lead Role in 2011.
Each evening a special guest is invited on stage for a dialogue with the audience on themes of ethics, morality, fear, politics and the contemporary world.
