Skæbnen (Fate) is a VR ghost story created by Exit Stage, combining new dramatic writing with original composed music in an immersive virtual reality experience. Audiences wear VR headsets to follow a mother — voiced by Sofie Gråbøl — as she wanders through her empty home.
In her grief and longing, she relives memories of her son, who died in a near-future war. She pleads with both God and the devil to bring him back, and in her fractured, sorrow-laden account we hear of a young man who fought for a better world through activism — until geopolitical shifts drove him to take up arms for European values, and he fell in battle.
Now he haunts the empty house. Has she truly gotten her son back? The piece is presented on the Foyerscene stage at Aveny-T, running over two afternoons at 15:00.
