Til glæden

This programme pays tribute to August Bournonville, the choreographer who established the ballet style that put the Royal Danish Ballet on the world map in the mid-19th century. The evening gathers four of his ballets, guiding audiences through the breadth of his repertoire.

The programme concludes with La Sylphide, widely regarded as the crown jewel of the Bournonville canon. It is an ideal introduction for newcomers to classical ballet as well as a rewarding evening for devoted fans of Bournonville's distinctive footwork, imaginative invention and storytelling.

Performances take place at Gamle Scene, where the Royal Danish Ballet has danced for nearly 200 years.
