Akuteu is a solo performance created and performed by Soleil Launière, presented at La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines in Montreal. The work draws on intimate personal narratives to explore questions of identity, cultural legitimacy, and the experience of a young Innu woman blending into a predominantly white society.
Through poetic and visceral storytelling, the piece examines the contradictions that shape one's sense of self, the responsibility of speaking on behalf of one's community, and the unsettling feeling of being suspended between two worlds.
Performances run from Wednesday, January 27 to Saturday, February 6, 2027. Both evening (19:30) and matinee (15:00) showings are scheduled across the run.
Tickets are available through the venue's ticketing platform at lachapelle.tuxedobillet.com. La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines is located at 3700 Saint-Dominique Street, Montreal (Quebec) H2X 2X7.
