British Festival Ballet performs The Nutcracker at Opéra Berlioz in Montpellier on Saturday 5 December at 15:30.
The music is by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, with choreography and libretto by Marius Petipa, based on the tale by Hoffmann.
On Christmas Eve, young Marie receives a nutcracker from her uncle. At night the toys come alive and she is swept into a whirlwind of extraordinary adventures. Lavish costumes, varied choreography and a festive atmosphere make it a show suited to the whole family.
